About Us
At KCL, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality laser engraved products and maintaining a collaborative, fast-paced work environment. We are a high-volume promotional branding operation with a small, tight-knit team and are looking for a dedicated and hands-on Production Leader to keep our daily production running smoothly and efficiently.
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive Production Leader for an ongoing casual position. Weekly hours fluctuate with production requirements but typically fall between 30-40 hours per week. Because we are a small operation, this is not a desk job or a high-level management role. You will be an active, hands-on part of the production team, wearing multiple hats and leading our small team by example.
Your day will involve operating the laser engraving machines, picking and packing goods, performing quality control, and coordinating the daily workflow. Working closely with management, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our daily and weekly production targets are met without compromising on quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Hands-On Production & Leadership: Spend your day on the tools—operating machinery, packing orders, and working alongside your team, leading by example.
- Workflow Coordination: Organise daily tasks, ensuring everyone knows what needs to be done to keep operations running efficiently.
- Quality Control: Keep a close eye on the details, ensuring our high-volume output consistently meets expected quality standards.
- Team Support: Act as the go-to person, guiding and motivating our close-knit team while working closely with management.
About You
- Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, or warehouse environment, ideally within a small business or tight-knit team setting.
- Experience as a working supervisor, team leader, or 2IC where you were actively involved in production rather than just managing from afar.
- A true "hands-on" approach with a strong work ethic and a willingness to jump into any task, from machine operation to packing.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly regarding quality control.
- Great communication skills with a friendly, approachable leadership style.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing production requirements and hours.
What We Offer
- Regular, ongoing casual hours (approx. 30-40 hours per week).
- A supportive, close-knit small business culture where your contribution is highly visible and valued.
- The opportunity to take ownership of daily workflows and make a tangible impact on our production success.
