About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Remedial Massage Therapist for an immediate full-time start, working 38 hours per week from Woolloomooloo, NSW 2011.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks, including:
· Providing remedial massage and body treatment services focused on supporting recovery, pain management, and the treatment of physical conditions and musculoskeletal disorders.
· Manipulating soft tissues of the body, including muscles, tendons, and ligaments, to promote healing, reduce pain, and improve mobility.
· Applying a variety of massage techniques to assist injury rehabilitation, improve physical function, and support recovery from musculoskeletal conditions.
· Managing treatments aimed at improving circulation, reducing inflammation, relieving muscle stiffness, and assisting recovery from injury or chronic pain conditions.
· Identifying and treating soft tissue dysfunctions and musculoskeletal issues, while providing rehabilitation and corrective exercise advice.
· Using complementary techniques such as trigger point release, infra-red therapy, wet compresses, ice therapy, essential oils, and cupping to support therapeutic recovery and symptom management.
· Evaluating clients’ physical condition and medical history to develop appropriate treatment plans and recommend stretching, mobility, and rehabilitation exercises.
· Scheduling ongoing treatment appointments with patients to monitor progress, support recovery goals, and adjust therapy plans as required.
· Educating patients on home-based exercises, stretching programs, and self-management techniques to assist continued recovery and prevent recurrence of injuries or conditions.
· Maintain detailed client records for future reference and continued treatment planning.
Skills and Experience Required:
For this position, it is expected that the candidate possesses the following qualifications and work experience:
· A Diploma in Remedial Massage or a closely related Massage Therapy qualification with at least 1 year of full-time experience working in a Remedial Massage Therapist role. This formal qualification can be substituted by at least 3 years of work experience in a Remedial Massage Therapist role.
