Myrtleford Pizza and Tandoori House is a newly established restaurant located in the heart of Myrtleford, Victoria. We are passionate about bringing together the flavours of authentic Indian and Nepali cuisine alongside freshly prepared pizzas, offering our customers a unique and diverse dining experience. As we prepare to open our doors, we are looking for an experienced and motivated Chef to join our team and play a key role in establishing our kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and present a wide variety of Indian, Nepali and pizza dishes to a consistently high standard.
- Develop and refine menu items while maintaining authenticity, quality and consistency.
- Prepare curries, tandoori dishes, breads, momo, chowmein, pizzas and other menu offerings.
- Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety standards.
- Supervise kitchen staff and assist with training junior employees.
- Monitor stock levels, order supplies and minimise food wastage.
- Maintain a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment.
- Work collaboratively with management to enhance customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate IV in Kitchen Management or higher qualification,
- At least one year of relevant full-time work experience.
- Demonstrated experience preparing authentic Indian and Nepali cuisine, including tandoori dishes.
- Experience in preparing a variety of pizzas.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required.
Pay: $78,000.00 – $81,000.00 per year
