St Jude’s Randwick is a faithful and dedicated congregation which gathers in a beautiful sandstone church on large grounds in Randwick. We are seeking a female Pastoral Worker to minister among the people of our two morning congregations by caring, visiting and encouraging them in their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
This role is three days per week.
It involves:
- Building relationships in the congregation, particularly by welcoming newcomers, working among older members who may find it difficult to come each week, and supporting those experiencing difficulties;
- Calling, following up and visiting people to pray with them and provide encouragement through the Scriptures;
- Establish and lead a women’s Bible study group (probably in the daytime);
- Attending our morning services (8.00 am and 9.30 am), including regular service and prayer leading, and attending weekly staff meetings; and
- Involvement in other church activities where appropriate.
We are seeking a person with:
- a living faith in the Lord Jesus;
- a caring nature;
- strong convictions about the benefits of ministering the gospel “house to house” through the Bible and prayer;
- ideally, several years’ experience in this type of ministry; and
- a well organised and self-motivated work style.
Pastoral care training and, while not essential, a theological qualification at a diploma or higher level would be viewed favourably.
