About the Role
Due to continued growth, Contract Resources (CR), proudly supported by Cleanaway (CWY), is seeking an experienced and driven Maintenance Manager to lead our South-West Fleet Maintenance operations on a permanent full-time basis.
Reporting to the West Coast Fleet Manager and based out of our Kwinana facility, the Maintenance Manager is responsible for the overall management of fleet maintenance, workshop operations, asset reliability, compliance, and maintenance personnel across the West Coast region.
The Maintenance Manager will play a key role in ensuring our Industrial services fleet, specialised equipment, and operational assets are maintained to the highest safety and performance standards. This position requires a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, commercial awareness, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement across maintenance operations.
Duties will include but not limited to
- Leading and managing the SW maintenance team to deliver safe, efficient, and cost-effective maintenance outcomes
- Overseeing preventative, corrective, and breakdown maintenance programs across fleet and operational assets
- Managing daily workshop operations, resource allocation, and maintenance scheduling
- Ensuring fleet and equipment availability aligns with operational requirements
- Developing and implementing maintenance strategies to improve asset reliability and performance
- Monitoring maintenance costs, budgets, and expenditure while identifying opportunities for efficiencies
- Ensuring compliance with all legislative, regulatory, OEM, and company maintenance requirements
- Leading investigations into equipment failures and implementing corrective actions
- Managing relationships with suppliers, contractors, and service providers
- Supporting procurement activities for maintenance materials, parts, and equipment
- Driving a strong safety culture and ensuring adherence to all HSEQ requirements
- Preparing maintenance reports, KPI tracking, and asset performance analysis
- Supporting workforce planning, recruitment, training, and development of maintenance personnel
- Identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives across maintenance systems and processes
- Collaborating with operational leaders to support project delivery and business objectives
Requirements & Experience Needed
- Trade qualification in Mechanical, Heavy Diesel, Plant Mechanics, or a related discipline (desirable)
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a leadership role within Industrial Services, Oil & Gas, Transport, Waste Management, or related industries
- Demonstrated experience managing workshops, fleet maintenance, and asset management programs
- Strong understanding of preventative maintenance systems and maintenance planning principles
- Experience leading multi-disciplined maintenance teams in a fast-paced operational environment
- Sound commercial and financial management skills, including budgeting and cost control
- Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and maintenance compliance requirements
- Proven ability to develop and implement maintenance strategies that improve fleet reliability and utilisation
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using CMMS, fleet management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
