About the Role
As a Shift Leader, you'll be responsible for leading a production team to safely deliver quality products while achieving operational targets. You will work closely with Production, Engineering and other departments to maximise plant performance, develop your team and continuously improve our processes.
No two days are the same—you will coach people, solve problems, improve efficiencies and ensure every shift runs safely and successfully.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading and motivating a team to achieve production, quality and safety goals.
- Creating a strong safety culture where everyone goes home safely every day.
- Monitoring production performance and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Working closely with Engineering to maximise equipment reliability.
- Coaching, developing and mentoring team members to build capability and engagement.
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality and cost performance.
- Collaborating across departments including Engineering, Quality and R&D.
- Ensuring compliance with workplace safety, environmental and company standards.
- Building a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture.
About You
You are an experienced people leader who enjoys developing teams and improving manufacturing performance.
You will bring:
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience within manufacturing or production.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- A genuine commitment to workplace safety.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Strong organisational and computer skills.
Experience in textiles or wool processing is advantageous, but not essential.
Qualifications (or willingness to obtain)
Ideally you will hold, or be willing to obtain:
- Frontline Management Certificate IV
- Forklift Licence
- Boiler Ticket
- Confined Space Certification
- OH&S for Supervisors
- Chief Warden Certification
