About Forensicare
Forensicare is Victoria’s specialist provider of forensic mental health services, supporting people with serious mental illness involved in the justice system. We deliver recovery-focused care across secure inpatient environments and community settings.
We are entering a critical phase of hospital expansion, delivering an additional 82 beds across six new clinical units. To support this work, we are seeking an experienced professional to join us in a six month fixed term, project based role, leading operational planning and readiness activities for these new services.
This role plays a pivotal part in translating strategic and clinical intent into safe, operationally ready services, ensuring new units are planned, integrated and able to operate effectively from day one. It offers a unique opportunity to apply senior operational expertise at a defining moment in the hospital’s growth.
About the Role
As Operational Planning Lead, you will bridge strategy and execution—ensuring operational readiness, workforce preparedness, and safe service delivery. You’ll work across clinical and corporate teams to design workflows, test scenarios, and drive transition activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead operational planning and readiness activities for a major service expansion
- Identify risks, dependencies, and opportunities to support informed decision-making
- Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated planning outcomes
- Facilitate scenario testing, operational workflows, and transition readiness
- Support workforce capability through coaching and mentoring
- Contribute to governance, reporting, and continuous improvement processes
- Foster a culture of safety, accountability, and collaboration
About You
You’re an experienced operational or project leader who thrives in complex, high-stakes environments.
You will bring:
- Experience in operational planning, commissioning, or change in healthcare (or similar)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across clinical and corporate teams
- Ability to lead programs or workstreams in dynamic environments
- Knowledge of safety, compliance, or readiness requirements in secure or regulated settings
- Excellent planning, documentation, and communication skills
- Relevant qualification in health services, project management, or similar (desirable)
