KELKANE CONSTRUCTIONS PTY LTD is a growing construction company delivering high-quality residential and commercial building solutions across Melbourne. We specialise in renovations, fit-outs, structural works, repairs and construction services, with a strong focus on workmanship, reliability, safety and client satisfaction.
Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Contract Administrator to join our team. This role will support the successful delivery of construction projects through contract administration, procurement coordination, project documentation management and stakeholder liaison.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing, reviewing and administering construction contracts, subcontract agreements and project documentation
- Managing contract variations, extensions of time, progress documentation and compliance records
- Coordinating with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers and clients to support project delivery outcomes
- Assisting with procurement activities including supplier quotations, material orders and subcontractor coordination
- Monitoring project progress and maintaining accurate commercial and contractual records
- Supporting tender preparation, project costing and construction administration activities
- Preparing reports, project correspondence and contractual documentation for management review
- Assisting with project scheduling, resource coordination and contractor communication
- Supporting compliance with WHS requirements, building standards and company procedures
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders regarding contractual and project-related matters
Skills and Experience Required:
- Relevant qualification at Diploma level or higher in Building and Construction, Project Administration, Contract Administration or related field
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in contract administration, construction administration or project coordination within the building and construction industry
- Sound understanding of construction contracts, subcontractor coordination and project documentation processes
- Experience supporting procurement, tendering and commercial administration functions
- Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work within project deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction administration systems
- Knowledge of WHS requirements and construction industry compliance standards
- Ability to work effectively within a team-focused construction environment
Desirable:
- Experience working on residential and commercial construction projects
- Knowledge of Australian building and construction practices
- Additional language skills such as Mandarin or Cantonese will be considered advantageous due to supplier and stakeholder communication requirements
