As a DFSV Training and Capacity Building Officer, you will play an important role in developing and delivering DFSV sector capacity-building initiatives across Queensland to strengthen culturally responsive DFSV practice, and improve safety access and outcomes for people from multicultural communities.
About the Role
The role is part of the DFSV Prevention and Response Group and is responsible for developing and delivering capacity building strategies and initiatives grounded in engagement and collaboration with the DFSV sector, and aimed at enhancing cultural responsiveness in DFSV response for victim-survivors from migrant and refugee backgrounds in Queensland.
The role focuses on facilitating capacity building work and collaboration with the specialist DFSV and related sectors for enhanced and effective response when working with multicultural communities.
This position is a full-time contract until the end of June 2027 with the possibility of extension, working hybrid from our Logan office.
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with the DFSV Capacity Building Coordinator – Queensland, develop and deliver capacity building strategies and initiatives (including training) with the specialist DFSV and related sectors to strengthen their capacity to respond to victim-survivors of DFSV from multicultural communities.
- Develop and deliver training, tools and resources tailored to the specialist DFSV and related sectors and develop partnerships for collaborative practice support.
- Facilitate and/or participate in a community(ies) of practice and other mechanisms to promote evidence-based good practice in working effectively with multicultural communities in DFSV response.
- Proactively identify opportunities to collaborate with the specialist DFSV and related sectors and services for enhanced cultural responsiveness.
- Develop and deliver good practice approaches and advice to enhance sector responsiveness.
Essential Criteria
We’re looking for someone with experience in DFSV and multicultural community work, with strong skills in developing and delivering capacity-building initiatives, training, tools and resources. You’ll bring knowledge of culturally responsive practice, strong communication and analytical skills, sound professional judgement, and the ability to build trusted stakeholder relationships.
