About the Opportunity
As a Cabinet Making Apprentice for Austal Ships Australia (ASA), you'll learn the skills required to manufacture and install vessel fitout components across defence shipbuilding projects. Working within the Production Fitout team, you'll gain hands-on experience while contributing to quality, safety and productivity in a fast-paced shipbuilding environment.

What's Involved

Interpreting plans and drawings to complete work to Austal's standards.

Cutting and preparing materials for cabinetry and fitout installations.

Assembling structures using drilling, screwing and other trade techniques.

Assisting with the installation of cabinets, walls, ceilings and flooring onboard vessels.

Checking completed work for quality and accuracy before supervisor review.

Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work environment.
You'll Need

Construction Safety Induction (White Card).

A genuine interest in cabinet making, woodworking and shipbuilding.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

Willingness to learn from experienced tradespeople and supervisors.

Basic knowledge of woodworking tools and techniques.

Good problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically when completing tasks.

Ability to work effectively within a team and communicate clearly with others.

Physical fitness and commitment to safe work practices (Desirable).
