RoadTek is the Department of Transport and Main Roads' commercial business, delivering transport infrastructure solutions across Queensland. With more than 1,300 assets operating across nine regions, our people play a critical role in building, maintaining and supporting the road network that connects communities, businesses and industries across the state.
As a Mechanical Tradesperson, you'll join a professional and safety-focused workshop team responsible for maintaining and repairing a modern fleet of trucks, trailers, earthmoving equipment and specialised machinery. No two days are the same. One day you could be completing scheduled servicing in the workshop, and the next responding to equipment breakdowns in the field using advanced diagnostic equipment.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you'll:
- Perform repairs, servicing and preventative maintenance on heavy vehicles, plant and auxiliary equipment.
- Diagnose faults and undertake repairs in workshop and field environments using modern tools and technology.
- Complete maintenance records, work orders and service reporting accurately and on time.
- Contribute to a safe workplace through hazard identification, risk assessment and compliance with safety requirements.
- Share your expertise and support the development of apprentices and trainees.
What's in it for you?
RoadTek offers more than challenging and rewarding work. You'll enjoy:
- Permanent full-time employment with a 76-hour fortnight and rostered day off.
- Competitive salary, superannuation and leave entitlements.
- Five weeks annual leave in Northern Queensland locations.
- Career progression opportunities and access to RoadTek's Mechanical Tradesperson Development Program.
- Salary packaging options and a range of employee wellbeing initiatives.
- Access to health programs, annual flu vaccinations and confidential Employee Assistance Program services for you and your family.
At RoadTek, you'll be part of a team that values respect, safety, inclusion and continuous learning. Whether you're looking to broaden your technical capability, work on a diverse range of equipment or build a long-term career within one of Queensland's largest infrastructure organisations, this is your opportunity to make an impact while helping keep Queensland moving.
