Urbis has an exciting opportunity for a spirited Spatial Systems Specialist to join our Technology, Digital & Spatial team in Melbourne. This is an exciting and innovative opportunity to shape and pioneer the transformation, uplift and the ongoing operational stewardship of Urbis' spatial technology and data landscape. Reporting to the Head of Spatial Products, you will work closely with market leading Technology, Digital and Spatial professionals to enhance our spatial offering through automation and emerging AI capabilities, delivering competitive services with real impact and value.
In this role, you will:
- Drive the implementation and uplift of our spatial technology and data landscape, ensuring that GIS platforms, tools and services are reliable, secure, well governed and fit for purpose
- Manage the lifecycle and continuous improvement of spatial systems, including change management and platform enhancements, working closely with Technology, Architects and Vendor partners
- Make process improvements through AI and automation to streamline procedures across spatial systems and data processes
- Take custodianship of authoritative spatial data, management of spatial data pipelines, configure, publish and support spatial web services and enterprise integrations to meet agreed performance and service expectations
- Build spatial capability across the organisation through collaboration, user support and mentoring, while contributing to platform strategy, innovation and the ongoing evolution of Urbis' spatial systems

- A relevant tertiary qualification in GIS, Spatial Science, Geomatics, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- At least 2 years of experience administering ESRI products and FME flow in a professional, production environment; or significant other relevant experience.
- Demonstrates foundational knowledge of GIS architecture, cloud-based platform deployments and security methodologies.
- Strong technical capability managing spatial data in large and complex environments, enabling automated and scalable workflows.
- Experience publishing enterprise grade spatial web services and supporting system integrations.
- A collaborative mindset, to bring out the best in yourself and others while bringing new thinking to Urbis and our clients
