KITCHEN HAND AT STEWART HOUSE
Help make a difference to the lives of children in need.
We are seeking a kitchen hand/all-rounder to join our team at Stewart House. Our kitchen caters to the children in residence at Stewart House. There may be up to 84 kids in our care over a twelve day stay. These kids have come to Stewart House in need of respite from their difficult home lives. A positive and friendly attitude is a must.
General duties include.
- Keep food preparation areas clean and sanitary
- Clean kitchen equipment and appliances
- Washing dishware, glassware and kitchen equipment
- Assist with sandwich preparation
- Retrieve food items as requested
- Check off deliveries and store appropriately
- Pack down and close the kitchen
The suitable candidate will have completed a basic food handlers’ course and have or be willing to obtain a Working with Children (WWC) check.
The available shifts are:
· Saturday mornings, every second weekend 6am – 11am
· Sunday mornings, every second weekend 6am – 11am
Plus opportunities to cover other shifts where staff are sick or on holidays, if you like.
The intention is to turn the casual role into a permanent part time role, if requested by staff member(s) with paid school holidays.
There is need for casual staff at other morning and afternoon/evening shifts.
Note the Stewart House program operates to the NSW public school term calendar and is closed during public school holidays.
Pay rates: $34.21 + penalty rates for hours before 7am, Saturdays and Sundys.
