The Role
The Head of Collection Services leads the delivery of core collection management functions that support the care, access, and preservation of the Memorial’s National Collection. The role provides leadership across Collection Services, ensuring efficient, compliant, and high-quality outcomes aligned with the Memorial’s priorities.
Working as part of the National Collection leadership team, you will drive performance, build capability, and embed consistent processes that support the long-term stewardship of the collection.

Provide strategic and operational leadership across Collection Services including comprehensive collection management and preservation functions which may include:
- Conservation across diverse specialties

- Lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Manage resources effectively to deliver business outcomes aligned with organisational priorities.

Identify and implement opportunities to improve systems, processes, and service delivery.

Build and sustain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, representing the Memorial with professionalism and credibility.

Oversee risk management and safety practices within a complex collection environment.

Contribute to organisational planning, governance, and decision-making at the senior leadership level.
Position Eligibility
- Under section 22(8) of the Public Service Act 1999, employees must be Australian citizens to be employed in the Australian Public Service (APS).
