Sleep & Breathing Specialist Centre is a well-established specialist practice located within the North Shore Health Hub in St Leonards. Our practice comprises 14 Respiratory and Sleep Physicians, supported by a dedicated Respiratory Function Laboratory and a multidisciplinary team including a Sleep Psychologist, Dietitian, Respiratory Physiotherapist and Speech Pathologist.

The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist / Administration Officer to join our team in a permanent full-time position (5 days per week or 9 day fortnight).
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced medical administrator looking to become part of a respected specialist practice where quality, professionalism and teamwork are highly valued.
As a key member of our administration team, you will play an integral role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice while delivering exceptional service to our patients, doctors and referrers.
About You
You are an experienced medical receptionist who enjoys working in a busy specialist environment and takes pride in providing outstanding customer service. You are organised, proactive and able to remain calm and efficient when managing multiple competing priorities.
You have excellent attention to detail, communicate in a kind and professional manner with patients and colleagues, and enjoy being part of a supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, specialists and referring practitioners.
- Manage patient appointments, enquiries and correspondence efficiently.
- Process referrals, clinical documentation and patient records accurately.
- Prepare and maintain electronic medical records using Genie Medical Software.
- Manage patient accounts, billing and Medicare processing.
- Liaise professionally with hospitals, allied health providers and external stakeholders.
- Provide administrative support to the Practice Manager and medical specialists.
- Contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the practice each day.
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in a medical reception or medical administration role.
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced medical environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.
- High level of accuracy and exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- A professional, reliable and positive approach to work.
- A genuine commitment to providing exceptional patient care.
Desirable
- Experience using Genie Medical Software.
- Knowledge of Medicare billing and health fund claiming.
- Experience working within a specialist medical practice.
