Paralegal - 12 month fixed term contract
About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Legal Practice & Paralegal Support professional to join Avant Law.
This is a varied role combining paralegal capability with high-level administrative and practice support, with the flexibility to respond to the changing needs of the team.
You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy, using your judgement to manage workflows, anticipate team needs and support the effective progression of legal matters and the broader practice.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a paralegal, legal support or administrative role within a legal environment.
- Strong drafting, document management and attention to detail.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience with financial and administrative tasks, including billing and expense management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal practice systems.
- A proactive approach, strong judgement and the ability to work autonomously.
- A commitment to professional development and the ability to learn new systems, processes and responsibilities.
What You'll Do
- Support solicitors across the lifecycle of legal matters, including document preparation, court and tribunal processes, file management and stakeholder liaison.
- Manage diaries, meetings, workflows and communications, providing high-quality practice and administrative support.
- Process invoices, track matter costs and assist with expenses, reconciliations and financial administration.
- Build strong relationships across Legal, Claims and Medical Advisory teams.
- Manage competing priorities and proactively identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
- Provide flexible support across paralegal, administrative and coordination responsibilities as required.
