DUTY MANAGER
Central Sunshine Coast | Full-Time | $75,000–$85,000 + Performance Incentives (dependent on experience)
Build a career, not just a job.
At Helliwell Hospitality Group, we develop business leaders. Working alongside experienced directors, you'll gain the commercial skills, leadership experience and mentoring needed to run a venue – and eventually, maybe your own business.
This role isn't for everyone. If you want predictable 9-to-5 shifts and minimal responsibility, it's not for you. If you thrive under pressure, love solving problems and want real ownership, keep reading.
The Role
We're looking for a commercially minded Duty Manager to run the day-to-day operations of one of our flagship Sunshine Coast venues — working closely with the Venue Manager and directors to drive revenue, culture and results.
You'll own:
- Venue operations and shift leadership
- Revenue growth and profitability
- Team recruitment, coaching and development
- Guest experience and service standards
- Venue presentation and brand standards
Success looks like:
- Revenue targets consistently met or exceeded
- High guest satisfaction and strong team retention
- Smooth, well-run shifts with minimal escalation
- A well-trained, engaged team
Who You Are
You take ownership without being asked. You're as comfortable running a busy Friday night as you are training new staff members.
You've likely worked as a Duty Manager, Hospitality Manager, or Assistant Venue Manager ready to step up — and you're ambitious, not just clocking in for a payslip.
You'll bring:
- A track record of improving venue performance
- Confidence leading and developing teams
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- High personal accountability
- Current RSA and RSG
- Approved Manager Licence
What We Offer
- Competitive salary + performance incentives tied to results
- Hands-on training alongside experienced hospitality directors
- One-on-one mentoring and leadership coaching
- A clear pathway into senior leadership
- Employee discounts across the group
- The chance to help shape one of Queensland's leading hospitality groups
Visa Sponsorship Pathway
We're open to supporting the right candidate through a Subclass 407 Training visa (Occupational Training to Enhance Skills stream) for applicants who:
- Have at least 12 months' full-time experience in a relevant hospitality management role in the last 24 months, or
- Hold a qualification requiring mandatory workplace training to complete, and
- Have functional English
This involves a structured training programme (30+ hours/week, at least 70% on the job) tailored to your development. Mention it in your application and we'll talk through what it looks like.
