About the Role
This is a flexible casual position suited to a Registered Nurse who has experience across the NDIS, disability, community nursing, aged care or complex in-home support.
The role will initially be offered on an as-needed basis, with the opportunity for hours to increase as Mission Ability grows.
You will help ensure participants are onboarded safely and thoroughly, with appropriate clinical assessments, care plans, risk controls and guidance provided to the support team.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive clinical assessments for new participants
- Review health information, medical history, medications and support requirements
- Develop and review individualised care plans, health support plans and clinical risk assessments
- Identify clinical risks and recommend appropriate safeguards and escalation processes
- Support the onboarding of participants with complex or higher-support needs
- Coordinate with participants, families, support coordinators, allied health professionals and medical teams
- Provide clinical guidance and education to support workers
- Assist with medication management documentation and competency requirements
- Review incidents, health changes and clinical concerns when required
- Conduct ongoing care plan reviews and ensure documentation remains current
- Support Mission Ability to maintain high standards of clinical governance and NDIS compliance
- Provide community nursing support where appropriate and within professional scope of practice
About You
You will be a compassionate and organised Registered Nurse who can balance strong clinical judgement with a respectful and person-centred approach.
Essential Requirements
- Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA
- Relevant nursing experience in disability, community care, aged care, complex care or a similar setting
- Experience completing clinical assessments and developing care plans
- Strong understanding of medication management, clinical risk and escalation procedures
- Excellent written documentation and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and provide clear clinical recommendations
- Current National Police Check
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to obtain one
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid Australian driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle
- Australian working rights
Highly Regarded
- Previous experience working with NDIS participants
- Experience supporting people with complex health needs
- Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and clinical governance requirements
- Experience training or assessing support workers in clinical procedures
- Experience with high-intensity supports, continence care, enteral feeding, diabetes management, wound care or medication support

Pay: $41.00 – $46.00 per hour
