Job Duties
- ·Deliver specialised technical assistance and professional advice while assessing and monitoring the performance, availability, functionality, and reliability of telecommunications networks and related equipment.
- ·Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, contractors, and external service providers to support the delivery of network services and ensure adherence to contractual obligations, service-level requirements, and relevant industry standards.
- ·Maintain accurate and comprehensive documentation of telecommunications equipment, inventories, components, configurations, and system status, ensuring compliance with established policies, procedures, technical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
- Assist in the ongoing operation and maintenance of telecommunications networks through network planning and design, performance optimisation, fault identification, technical troubleshooting, repair activities, and resolution of network issues.
- Carry out the installation, commissioning, servicing, preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of microwave, telemetry, multiplexing, satellite, radio, and other electromagnetic communication systems.
- · Undertake the planning, design, and coordination of customer access telecommunications network infrastructure to meet current service needs and accommodate future capacity and connectivity requirements.
- Develop and implement telecommunications infrastructure plans to support the expansion, enhancement, upgrading, and continuous improvement of customer access networks.
- Configure and integrate telecommunications network technologies with computer hardware, software applications, desktop systems, peripheral equipment, databases, and operating systems to support effective network functionality and connectivity.
Required skills and experience
- Candidates must have at least one year of relevant professional experience as a Telecommunications Network Planner.
- Applicants with a relevant tertiary, technical, or professional qualification will be highly regarded.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures, technical requirements, and workplace guidelines accurately.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and complete tasks within specified deadlines.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and evolving work environment, while adapting to changing operational requirements.
