Join our team in a dynamic, hands-on role supporting farming operations across GVW’s Southern Region.
This opportunity represents the beginning or continuation of your leadership journey. Drawing on your farming experience and supported by the Farm Coordinator and Team Leader, you will help guide individuals and the broader team to perform at a consistently high level as a cohesive unit.
This role focuses on our Southern farming areas, where you’ll contribute to a wide range of farming activities including irrigation, livestock (animal husbandry) stock and pasture management, cropping and general farm maintenance.

About your new role...
Goulburn Valley Water (GVW) operates a farming enterprise across multiple locations, delivering sustainable, efficient and commercially viable farming operations. While GVW’s core business is water, our farming activities complement our broader operations and provide a unique opportunity to work within a small, dedicated team.
To meet operational requirements, you will ideally be located within GVW’s Southern operating region. This role focuses on our Southern farming areas including Seymour, Alexandra, Broadford, Mansfield and surrounding regions. Travel across GVW districts, may be required depending on operational needs.
Balancing hands-on fieldwork with administrative responsibilities, you will support daily work planning, budget preparation, customer enquiries, and compliance with safety, maintenance and regulatory requirements. You will positively influence team performance, operational processes and service standards while contributing to reliable service delivery for the community.
You will bring strong farming operations experience and the confidence to lead others. You are safety focused, customer oriented and comfortable balancing technical work with people leadership responsibilities.
About you...
We're looking for someone with:
Certificate IV in Agriculture; or Certificate III in Agriculture with at least 5 year’s relevant experience; or a minimum of 7 year’s relevant experience
Minimum 7 year’s experience in farm agriculture including irrigation, stock, feedlot and cropping
Experience leading or supporting a small team including training and mentoring
Experience, or ability to quickly learn, computer-based systems, particularly Agriculture related
Strong commitment to Occupational Health and Safety
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational, self-management and problem-solving skills.
Adaptable, hands on and enjoy working outdoors in a variety of conditions

Classification GVW3: $82,541 - $100,700 + super (salary starting point is dependent upon relevant qualifications, skills, and experience)
