The Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) and Career Coordinator plays a key role in supporting student success by overseeing the delivery of WIL programs, employability workshops, and career development services across the campus.
The position serves as the central point of coordination between students, academic staff, and industry partners, ensuring that work-integrated learning experiences are well organised, compliant, and aligned with course requirements and learning outcomes.
The Coordinator is responsible for managing the end-to-end student placement process, from pre-placement preparation and documentation through to monitoring participation and reporting on outcomes. The role also includes designing and facilitating workshops that build students’ professional readiness and career capability.
A significant component of the role involves maintaining effective relationships with placement providers and internal teams, coordinating employer engagement activities, and ensuring students receive consistent and equitable support throughout their WIL and career development journey.
As a member of the Student Experience team, the Coordinator contributes to broader campus initiatives and adapts to evolving student, academic, and operational needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinate and oversee the end-to-end delivery of Work Integrated Learning programs, ensuring students are appropriately placed, supported, and monitored throughout their WIL experience. This includes managing placement requirements, timelines, pre-placement documentation, and compliance checks in alignment with course requirements, learning outcomes, and institutional policy.

Design, coordinate, and facilitate employability and career development workshops, programs, and events each semester. Activities may include career expos, employer engagement events, boot camps, and other initiatives that build students’ professional skills, job readiness, and career planning capability.

Provide timely and consistent support to students across their WIL and career development journey, including guidance on university policies, procedures, placement queries, and individual circumstances.

Monitor student participation and progression, responding to issues and escalating where appropriate to ensure equitable and positive outcomes.

Act as a key liaison between the Student Experience team, academic staff, and external placement providers and industry partners.

Work collaboratively and autonomously to maintain effective relationships, coordinate information flow, and ensure all parties are informed and supported in meeting their responsibilities.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records across relevant systems and platforms, ensuring compliance with WIL policies and regulatory requirements.

Compile, analyse, and report on placement data, student outcomes, and service effectiveness to support continuous improvement and informed decision-making.

Contribute to the review and improvement of WIL, employability, and career services to ensure alignment with student needs, industry expectations, and institutional goals.

Support broader Student Experience and campus initiatives, and undertake other duties as reasonably required.
