The Opportunity
An opportunity has become available for an experienced
Management Accountant to join a well-established organisation on a
6-month contract.
This is a varied, hands-on role with a strong focus on grant and contract accounting, month-end reporting and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with senior leaders and operational teams, you’ll help ensure funding agreements are accurately managed, recognised and reported.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage government grant accounting and reporting, including expenditure tracking, income recognition and monthly reporting.
- Oversee financial reporting across key contracts and monitor deliverables against funding agreements.
- Prepare month-end journals including accruals, deferred income, project and grant funding recognition.
- Maintain deferred revenue schedules and review project activity.
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations, particularly across deferred income accounts.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to provide financial insights and ensure reporting obligations are met.
- Assist with cash flow and management reporting, process improvements and broader finance activities as required.
About You
You’ll be a hands-on Management Accountant who can quickly get up to speed and take ownership within a fast-paced finance environment. Ideally, you will have:
- Strong management accounting and month-end reporting experience.
- Exposure to grant, project or contract accounting and revenue recognition.
- Strong journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliation skills.
- Confidence working with both finance and operational stakeholders.
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work across multiple systems.
- Power BI and/or FloQast experience would be advantageous.
