About the role
The Infrastructure Engineer will be a key technical support resource in all aspects of Infrastructure BAU support and operations within the APAC & HK regions. This role will be assisting with various BAU related activities within the on premise and cloud environments in APAC & Hong Kong. This person will also be providing support and guidance to the Mumbai Hub (GCC) teams as required.
Whilst support services are delivered from a separate team largely located in our Mumbai Hub, the Infrastructure Operations Team (APAC) would be called in to provide incident support and mentoring for the Support Team as when and where required.

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities
- Evaluate, select and manage technical solutions to meet the business requirements.
- Manage the day to day Infrastructure Operations from a capacity, availability and risk management perspective;
- Provide full infrastructure support of the various business units across MUFG Pension & Market Services and any subsidiary as required
- Design, develop and support standard MUFG Pension & Market Services IT infrastructure to meet business requirements
- Support cloud workloads in Azure.
- Provide technical support to assist in the resolution of Infrastructure related incidents
- Provide a technical escalation point for 3rd parties in the ongoing support and management of the IT infrastructure
- Provide a technical lead as required to own and manage the delivery of IT infrastructure projects as directed
- Participate in the delivery of technical solutions for other IT infrastructure projects as required
- Provide technical support for escalated Severity 1 and 2 issues as required
- Provide technical support services to other project teams as required
- Provide front line Network support to group wide network infrastructure.
- Ensure audit and compliance protocols are reviewed and complied with.
- Provide technical input into Crisis/Incident Management as required.
- Any service requests or incidents must be responded to within SLA and resolved as soon as possible. If the error cannot be resolved, it must be escalated to software and hardware vendors in a timely manner
People Leadership and Governance and Risk
- Act as senior technical escalation point for all Infrastructure Engineers located in Mumbai
- Ensure all work adheres to appropriate change management, audit and compliance protocols
- Provide input into the DRP, BCP and annual audit process
- Ensure procedural and architecture documentation is maintained and updated accordingly.
- Formal Training and certification are required as agreed with the IT Manager to address any documented skill-gap areas
Experience & Personal Attributes
- 3-5 years experience with Window Server Operating Systems (2012, 2016, 2019 and 2022) and Hypervisor technologies (VMWare, Nutanix and Hyper-V)
- Azure Cloud experience with sound understanding of ITIL
- Exposure to Infrastructure Architecture principles and documentation
- Understanding and appreciation for a disciplined IT approach to incident, problem and change management
- Good organisational skills with the discipline to complete daily operational tasks accurately and consistently
- Have a ‘Can-Do’ and ‘Challenger’ attitude and take initiative on continuous improvement
- Excellent Verbal and written Communication Skills and ability to deal with busy, high pressure situations
- Happy to work in a 24/7 support environment
- Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously as well as works well within a team environment.
- Highly Professional approach and Customer Focused
- Ability to approach technical issues and problems in an analytical and solutions focused manner
Highly Desirable
- Experience in VM migration projects/initiatives
- Experience working on the Nutanix hypervisor platform
Essential Qualifications
Appropriate post graduate Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science/Information Technology.
