Kean Energy Resources is growing, and we’re looking for experienced Industrial Painters / Abrasive Blasters to join our Coatings team working across the Cooper Basin, Moomba SA on a FIFO basis.
With current projects underway and additional work coming up across Queensland, this is an opportunity to join a growing team with the potential for ongoing work.
About the Role
Working on a 2/2 or 3/1 roster, this casual position is suited to experienced Industrial Painters and Abrasive Blasters who are confident working in remote and challenging environments.
You’ll be responsible for the surface preparation and application of protective coatings to equipment, piping and infrastructure, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to client specifications.
The role will involve working across the Cooper Basin, including remote satellite camps and arid conditions. You’ll need to be safety focused, reliable and comfortable working both independently and as part of a high performing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct abrasive blasting and industrial painting to specified standards
- Prepare surfaces and apply protective coatings using brush, roller and spray equipment
- Select, mix and prepare coatings in accordance with manufacturer and project requirements
- Ensure coatings are applied correctly, evenly and to required specifications
- Maintain painting, blasting and associated equipment in a safe and operational condition
- Follow all site safety, environmental and quality requirements
- Work closely with supervisors and team members to ensure projects are delivered safely and efficiently
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate III Engineering – Fabrication (Surface Finishing) or equivalent/similar qualification
- Proven experience in industrial painting and/or abrasive blasting
- White Card
- Confined Space Entry
- Gas Test Atmosphere
- Current Australian Driver’s Licence
- Full Australian working rights
Highly desirable:
- High Risk Work Licence
- Working at Heights
- National Police Clearance
- Previous Oil & Gas, Mining or remote site experience
- Previous experience working in the Cooper Basin / Moomba
