We are seeking a motivated school leaver or an individual looking to begin their career in the transport and logistics industry. This is a trainee, entry-level position offering hands-on, on-the-job learning while working closely with our Operations Manager.
Throughout the role, you will gain exposure to all areas of the business, including operations, warehousing, and fleet management of 20+ vehicles. As you progress, there will be opportunities to obtain a forklift licence and a truck licence.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
Runsheets
- Produce daily runsheets
- Review runsheets, including:
- Driver breaks
- Pre-start checks
- Driver declarations
- Vehicle maintenance requirements
- Review and file National Work Diaries
- Scan driver runsheets to the cloud as required
Operations
- Manage electronic diaries
- Data entry, including:
- Creation of consignments
- Update consignment statuses
- Review bulk allocations
- Provide customer service support
- Create and manage errors
- Handle customer enquiries and incoming calls
- Provide driver instructions and assistance
- Book subcontractors and follow up on:
- Estimated times of arrival (ETAs)
- Proof of delivery (PODs)
- Manage CHEP / Loscam pallets:
- Identify and enter pallet details during data entry
- Highlight or stamp pallet details on consignment notes
- Raise errors or contact customers if issues arise
- Create sales orders and purchase orders for the warehouse
Central Customer Service
- Handle all incoming and outgoing enquiries
- Act as the first point of contact for customers and company drivers
- Liaise internally between Sooner Transport Accounts and Management
Support to Management
- Provide assistance to the Managing Director and Operations Manager
- Shadow management and follow instructions as required
