CHILDCARE COOK
Sesame Kids Early Learning Centre is seeking an experienced and organised Cook to join our family-owned and community-focused service.
The successful applicant will play an important role in preparing nutritious meals for children while maintaining exceptional food safety, hygiene and cleanliness standards within the service. We are looking for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, organised and well-managed kitchen environment at all times.
About the Role:
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals for children in line with a prepared menu
- Provide alternative meal suggestions and accommodate dietary requirements where needed
- Maintain compliance with a Class 1 Food Safety Program
- Complete food temperature logs, cleaning records and daily kitchen documentation
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of allergens and cross contamination management
- Maintain exceptionally high hygiene and cleanliness standards throughout the kitchen
- Ensure all food preparation, storage and cleaning procedures are followed correctly
- Keep all kitchen areas, equipment, fridges and food storage spaces clean, sanitised and organised at all times
- Work efficiently within timeframes and daily routines
- Support positive mealtime experiences for children
About You:
- Hold a current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Previous experience working as a cook, preferably within childcare or large meal preparation environments
- Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene practices and allergen management
- Takes pride in maintaining a clean and organised workspace
- Able to manage time effectively and work independently
- Organised, reliable and able to follow procedures
- Positive attitude and willingness to work within a team environment
- Passionate about preparing healthy and enjoyable meals for children

Salary: To be discussed based on experience and qualifications.
Pay: $25.00 – $28.00 per hour
