We are family-owned business based in Wattleup, operating in a fast-paced and diverse road transport environment. We are seeking a motivated Experienced FLEET CONTROLLER/ OPERATIONS COORDINATOR who wants to build a career in transport operations.
Your primary responsibility in this critical role is to provide ultimate fleet control, have excellent customer service, polite and accurate phone manner, work with the General Manager and Director; whilst also ensuring total customer satisfaction both internally and externally and having safety always in the forefront of all delegations a must.
You will be required to:
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Manage multiple priorities
- Communicate on all levels, ensure direction is clear and concise
- Work autonomously and as part of a team as and when required
- Forward plan, schedule daily, weekly and solve ad-hoc transport issues
- Have previous experience in or familiarise yourself with general freight, ugly freight, dangerous goods, heavy haulage & wharf operation requirements
- Contact customer base daily and generate schedules to manage the daily pick-up of freight to / from as per their requirements
- Ensure communication between Drivers and Loaders on all delivery/pick-up matters
- Arrange for deliveries inside and outside of normal schedules
- Manage and monitor Drivers’ daily runs through GPS tracking and daily runsheets including end of week timesheets
- Ensure all administration associated with daily transport activity is accurately kept up to date
- Prepare and administrate all necessary paperwork and prepare invoicing of jobs for submission to accounts.
- Maintain Equipment – Including maintenance and faults records in accordance with Main Roads accreditation requirements
- Maintain fatigue records as required by Western Australian law and Main Roads accreditation requirements
- Manage sub-contractor base including compliance audits and vehicle inspections
- Staff alternative position back up in case of illness or leave

- Strong computer skills, MS Office suite particularly - Outlook, Word and Excel, One-Stop, Container Chain. For any other industry related programs (training will be provided)
- Excellent planning abilities with high attention to detail and knowledge of the Perth Metro & Regional Area Including an understanding of RAV networks.
- Comprehensive understanding of Chain of Responsibility compliance
- Experience working in an environment with a commitment to Health, Safety & Environment practices
- Comprehensive understanding of Load Restraint Guidelines, oversize / overmass Main Roads requirements, knowledge of Dangerous Goods and Fatigue Management for Commercial Vehicle Drivers
- Prior experience in transport is essential.
- Current Heavy Vehicle (HR or greater) and LF (Forklift) Licence also an advantage
Maintaining customer relationships through trust, reliability and exceeding their expectations is vital in this role when time frames may be tight, compliance requirements are high and accurate documentation is crucial.
