Junior Graphic Designer for Print
bleux specialises in producing graphic designs for interior finishes and we supply to projects nationwide. We are currently looking for a junior graphic designer / artworker - one who can work autonomously, understand the expectations of a busy design studio and become an integral part of a small business.
This role suits an enthusiastic, smart, self-disciplined designer, motivated to learn working with artwork files and setting up to print. This role would suit a student who can work 3 days a week or a designer who wants to learn how to print. Full time position also available.
The right candidate could grow into a more senior role of managing projects involving large scale printed graphics for interior installations (which is our core business).
Responsibilities:
- produce artwork for samples and final print files using different suppliers and print methods
- interpret and customise existing designs for use in architectural drawings based on team input, client brief and company philosophy
- create new designs for the bleux library and collaborate with the studio to develop new products
- develop and maintain relationships with specifiers and the builders who run the projects
Skills:
- strong skills in Adobe Creative Suite CS (primarily Illustrator and Photoshop) to deliver accurate print files
- desire to learn print processes and colour management on different media (various glass films, acoustic solutions, wallcoverings, and glass)
- excellent written and verbal communication
- ability to collaborate and build ongoing relationships with clients and Bleux crew
- organisational skills and ability to work within a pre-existing system
- ability to deliver to deadlines
- organised with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload effectively
- an understanding of digital print practices and colour management
- ability to work with our printery (Bleux Print) to trouble shoot and develop finished substrates
