The National Arboretum Canberra and Stromlo Forest Park are unique places that bring together nature, recreation, events and community. We are seeking a committed and motivated leader to join our team as Assistant Director, Events and Engagement.
In this diverse and rewarding role, you will lead a small team responsible for delivering visitor engagement, communications, events and business improvement initiatives across both venues. You will oversee a diverse events calendar while managing event and venue approvals, digital and visitor communications, strategic projects and operational systems, ensuring activities are delivered safely, effectively and in line with governance requirements.
As a member of the leadership team, you will provide strategic advice, build productive stakeholder relationships and drive initiatives that enhance visitor experiences, support commercial outcomes and strengthen community connections. You will exercise sound judgement, balance competing priorities and
ensure activities are delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with governance requirements.

Ability to work flexible hours including outside core business hours, extended hours, weekends and public holidays during event delivery periods is required.
Note: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
