POSITION SUMMARY:
Aussie Life Care is seeking a passionate and dedicated Disability Support Worker to join assist our participants. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a pivotal role in empowering individuals with disabilities to achieve their goals and live independently. ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a female support worker with clear English communication skills to support a male participant in Chelsea. Participant lives with his wife, 9-year-old son, and a friendly small dog.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide daily support and assistance to residents in their day-to-day activities, including personal care, meal preparation, hoist transfers (training provided) and household tasks.
- Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes independence and social interaction.
- Develop and implement individual support plans in collaboration with residents and their families.
- Assist residents in accessing community resources and participating in social and recreational activities (including walking the family dog).
- Administer medications and maintain accurate records as required.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including allied health professionals, to ensure the holistic well-being of residents.
- Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming living environment.

REQUIREMENTS:
To be successful in this role, it is a requirement that you have:
- Cert. 3 in Individual Support (preferred), with experience in handling challenging behaviours
- Excellent communication skills – able to listen actively and communicate clearly with participants and the Care Team
- A person who is respectful, friendly, and empathetic – able to build trust and create a safe, supportive environment
- You must have working rights in Australia
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Police Check and Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Current driver's licence, car registration and comprehensive car insurance
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Medication administration certificate (or wanting to train on this competency)
- NDIS Orientation Module

Current available shifts are from:
- * Mon, Tue, Wed: 7:00am–9:00am (2 hour shifts)
