In this role, you will play a key part in protecting and maintaining some of our most remarkable places.
The Project Officer (Assets) role focuses on working as part of a small team responsible for coordinating the management of a range of assets. This includes planning and delivering capital works programs and coordinating strategic asset maintenance programs.
You will:
- Assist in the preparation of project and budget submissions.
- Plan and manage projects.
- Prepare submissions and correspondence.
- Report on projects and budgets.
- Assist in the preparation and management of contracts.
- Manage the procurement of goods and services in line with established processes.
You will also be expected to maintain productive relationships with stakeholders, including Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service & Partnerships (QPWS&P), other DETSI staff, and external stakeholders, to ensure a high standard of asset maintenance.
The position requires travel and fieldwork in remote environments and variable climates. At times, this may involve camping in isolated areas with limited options for personal communication.
