Role overview
The Hourly Technician is an additional support role for the Facilities Maintenance. They contribute to the ongoing day to day maintenance of their respective Funlab venue as directed by the Facilities Technician, Venue Manager, or facilities support.
The Hourly Technician will be trained Level 1 and 2 in their respective equipment and on elements of Fundamental Maintenance and Level 3 as outlined on the training documentation

Maintenance and repair of equipment
- Completion of the Preventative Maintenance Schedule for all bowling lanes & machines/holes/amusement games and other venue attractions/devices
- Make repairs to any faulty equipment in the venue
- Ensure all repairs and maintenance are conducted in line with your venue’s brand guidelines, colour palette & design
- Completion of task list items
Strike
- Machine maintenance (repairs/adjust/oil/lube)
- Lane maintenance (cleaning and oiling)
Games
- Internal game cleaning and upkeep
Venues
Venue presentation and upkeep of all:
- Amusement machines (where applicable)
- Escape Rooms, Challenge Rooms, Darts, Laser or other attractions (where applicable)
- Minor repairs or damage to the venue
- Venue specific items surrounding general upkeep of the venue
High level of professionalism
- Meet company brand image, profile and expectations

- Represent their venue to guests, staff and contractors in a professional manner

Technical aptitude
- Ability to systematically work through complex problems
- Able to isolate faults within systems and rectify
- Desirable skills (not necessarily trade level): carpentry, plaster and paint, mechanically minded, basic plumbing, fabrication, understanding of electronics and computer literacy
- Able to keep venue and workspace tidy and organised
- Maintaining databases and spare parts
- Maintain workplace standard regarding site safety
Reporting
- Report provided weekly to venue managers on completed and ongoing issues
- Daily handover reporting to the venue indicating works completed/outstanding
Safety
- Physical activities on a continuous basis, maintenance and repairs of Funlab activities, use of power tools, climbing ladders, crawling into confined spaces and, write or use of a keyboard to schedule bookings, take orders and complete reports.
- Frequent walking, bending, squatting, sitting and occasional lifting to >25kgs. may be required. Manual handling training for all equipment exceeding >25kgs.
- The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to high.

- Note that dark shorts (suitable working shorts, not casual shorts) are only permitted to be worn in warm conditions and never when:
- Welding
- Grinding
- working with sharps
- carrying out any work that could cause injury to exposed skin
- Knee pads and inserts
- Funlab issued goggles and gloves to be worn when handling any chemicals
- Funlab issued earmuffs to be worn when working in loud environments
- Make up and jewellery to a minimum
Skills, Experience, Qualifications
- Experience managing similar facilities would be desirable, but not essential
- Mechanical and / or technical aptitude
- Some Computer skills and the ability to work with Funlab systems
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously
Pay: $32.31 – $45.24 per hour
Work Location: In person
