Who we’re looking for
We are currently looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and motivated Senior Management Accountant to join our internal accounts team.
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Management Accountant with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in management accounting or financial analysis. As part of our Internal Finance team, your role is to ensure that all finance‑related activities are completed efficiently, accurately, and in alignment with Exant Advisory’ internal governance standards.
The Senior Management Accountant works closely with a variety of stakeholders including Partners, internal Finance Manager, employees, suppliers, and regulatory bodies. The role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capability, and a proactive approach to continuous improvement. Confidentiality and professionalism are essential.

Preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, group tax summary and loan summary for corporate and family groups including Trusts, Companies, Partnerships, Individuals & SMSF’s
- Preparation of payroll tax returns, FBT returns, activity statements
- Working as part of a team where you will work closely with other intermediate and senior business services accountants
- Use Of Xero
- Liaising with clients and other external service providers
- Develop your knowledge with U Learn, the Forvis Mazars individualized learning platform
About the Role

Financial Operations & Reporting
- Lead month end closing processes, including journals, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
- Prepare and review monthly management reporting packs, including P&L, balance sheet, KPIs, and commentary.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
- Review, approve, and adjust invoices, expenditure entries, and financial balances.
Compliance & Regulatory Reporting

Oversee the preparation of monthly IAS and quarterly BAS submissions.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, accounting standards, and delegated authority frameworks.
- Coordinate internal and external audit requirements, including documentation and process improvements.
Systems, Technology & Process Improvement

Maintain high proficiency with Xero, including troubleshooting and user support.
- Provide basic training and guidance to employees on finance system usage.
- Identify opportunities for automation, process optimisation, and improved financial controls.
- Support digital transformation initiatives within the finance function.
Reconciliation & Controls

Oversee reconciliation of General Ledger, petty cash, receipts, allowances, and credit cards.
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure data integrity across all finance processes.
Stakeholder Engagement

Build strong relationships with Partners, co workers, and key internal stakeholders through regular communication.
- Participate actively in training sessions and contribute to a collaborative team environment.
Key Skills and Attributes

CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent).
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in management accounting or senior financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of internal controls, compliance frameworks, and audit processes.
- Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modelling capability.
- High proficiency with Xero.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to partner with senior stakeholders.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
