About the Role
BP Kirwan is seeking a motivated and hands-on Duty Manager to support the day-to-day operation of our busy service station and convenience store.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in retail management. You'll work closely with the Site Manager to ensure smooth operations while helping drive business growth and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise staff during your shift.
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer enquiries.
- Open and close the store, including cash handling and reconciliation.
- Assist with stock ordering, inventory control and supplier coordination.
- Receive deliveries and maintain stock levels across the shop and food areas.
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve revenue and profitability.
- Assist with local marketing initiatives and business development activities.
- Build relationships with local businesses and community organisations.
- Prepare operational reports and complete general office administration.
- Assist with invoicing, purchasing and supplier communications.
- Support rostering, staff training and team development.
- Ensure food safety, workplace health and safety, and company compliance requirements are met.
- Maintain high presentation standards throughout the store and forecourt.
- Act as the Site Manager during periods of leave or absence.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in retail, hospitality or fuel/convenience operations.
- Has supervisory or management experience.
- Is organised, reliable and enjoys leading a team.
- Has good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Understands stock management and inventory control.
- Has strong communication and customer service skills.
- Is commercially minded and enjoys improving business performance.
- Can work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
- Holds a current driver's licence.
