We are seeking an experienced and motivated IT Services Technician to join our IT Operations team in Sydney.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director – IT Operations, the IT Services Technician is responsible for providing frontline technical support and maintaining reliable IT services across the organisation. The role supports network infrastructure, Microsoft 365 environments, cloud technologies, endpoint management, cybersecurity controls and business-critical applications.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting end users, maintaining operational continuity and delivering a high-quality technology experience across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and resolve IT incidents and service requests.
- Administer and support Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Intune environments.
- Configure and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, wireless networks, VPNs and firewalls.
- Support user onboarding and offboarding activities, including user account provisioning, access management and device configuration.
- Monitor and maintain endpoint security, device compliance and identity management controls.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, network and application issues.
- Support backup, recovery and business continuity processes.
- Assist with Microsoft 365 migration and SharePoint Online administration projects.
- Investigate and escalate security incidents and technical risks as required.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and knowledge articles.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in IT support, systems administration, service desk or infrastructure support roles.
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory and Microsoft Intune environments.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure including switching, wireless networking, firewalls and VPN technologies.
- Experience troubleshooting desktop, laptop, mobile device and application issues.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- A customer-focused approach with the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified, Azure or similar are highly regarded.
