Excavator Operator | Hope Valley Based | Mon–Fri | ASAP Start | $46/hr + Super
We're seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join a busy water maintenance crew responsible for responding to leaking and burst water mains across Adelaide.
This is a hands-on role offering consistent weekday hours, an immediate start, and the opportunity to work as part of a skilled crew delivering essential infrastructure repairs. If you're confident operating excavators in live civil environments and enjoy varied work, we'd love to hear from you.
The RoleWorking within a dedicated dig-up crew, you'll be responsible for excavating around underground services, supporting water main repairs, and assisting with reinstatement works. You'll work closely with civil labourers, plant operators, and maintenance teams to complete repairs safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate excavators safely and efficiently on water main repair projects
- Excavate around live underground services and utilities
- Assist with dig-ups on leaking and burst water mains
- Support reinstatement and site restoration activities
- Work closely with crew members to ensure jobs are completed on time
- Conduct daily pre-start checks and basic equipment maintenance
- Follow site safety procedures and traffic management requirements
- Assist with general site duties when required
Roster & Hours
- Monday to Friday: 7:00am – 3:30pm
- 1 in 5 weeks: Afternoon shift 3:00pm – 11:30pm
- Weekend work available (optional)
What You'll Need
- Excavator ticket and demonstrated operating experience
- Previous experience in civil construction, utilities, or maintenance works
- Experience working around underground services highly regarded
- White Card
- Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship
- Reliable, team-focused attitude
- Ability to work outdoors in a physically demanding environment
Highly Regarded
- HR Licence
- Loader experience
- Water infrastructure or maintenance experience
- Experience working within utility or council environments
