About the role:
The Communications Manager will work with the Head of Clients and Marketing and Hub Leaders to lead the delivery of MBM’s strategic communication strategies. The incumbent will be responsible for shaping and managing MBM's brand and reputation through owned, earned, and paid marketing channels, building strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, and will promote MBM across multiple platforms. This is a first-step management role, ideal for a Communications Advisor ready to take on people mentorship, with structured support from the Head of Clients and Marketing to build core management capability.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibility for marketing and communication functions including:
Provide communications advice and support to Hub Leaders and Directors ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives and clarity of key brand messages
Identify, lead, and review external news articles and thought leadership pieces to highlight MBM and the expertise of its people
Research and create topical case studies that promote MBM and its people, and create engagement with key external stakeholders
Lead the management and direction of MBM’s website, including updates and changes as necessary
Maintain engaging content on the MBM website, ensuring all messaging and copy aligns with overall business and marketing objectives
Design and implement communications campaigns that align with marketing and business development objectives, including campaign reporting on campaigns via digital analytical systems as appropriate (including the research and implementation of these analytical tools)
Creating and maintaining marketing collateral including but not limited to, brochures, capability statements, reports, and promotional material in Canva and Indesign, in collaboration with the senior graphic designer
Lead awards submissions for the business, including ensuring all interstate offices are represented in all available awards programs
Oversee content and channel governance, including tone, consistency, and adherence to MBM's brand
Support the day-to-day development of the Marketing & Communications Coordinator, including setting clear objectives, providing regular feedback and coaching, with the opportunity to deputise for the Head of Clients and Marketing on operational matters as capability develops
Provide support for external and internal events as required
Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to Marketing team members on all aspects of communications
As required, attending a diverse range of fun networking events representing MBM
Other activities to support MBM’s marketing, client relations and bidding activities as required
This role would suit a Senior Marketing and/or Communications Advisor looking to take the next step in their career.
Skills and Experiences:
About you:
You’re a strong communicator with an eye for detail and a passion for making information clear, inclusive and engaging. You enjoy collaborating with others and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, PR, journalism or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills across a variety of formats
- Strong interpersonal and proactive relationship-building skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Experience with digital communication tools (e.g. intranet/CRM, email platforms) – desirable
- Exposure to Microsoft tools and Canva is a must
- A collaborative mindset and a resilient and flexible approach
