Summit Doors is a specialist retailer and supplier of doors and building products basedin Heidelberg West, Victoria. We supply a comprehensive range of residential andcommercial door and window products to builders, developers, architects, and owner-occupiers across Victoria. We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator (also known as BuildingEstimator) to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a critical role withinour business, responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and quotations for thesupply of doors, windows, and associated building products across residential andcommercial projects. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will work closely withour sales, purchasing, and warehouse teams.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates and formal quotations for door and window supplyprojects.
Analyse architectural drawings, specifications, and schedules of quantities todetermine material requirements and pricing.
Prepare and submit competitive tender documents on behalf of the business.
Liaise with builders, developers, architects, and project managers on project scopeand specifications.
Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse teams to confirm product availabilityand lead times.
Maintain and update the estimating database with current pricing and productinformation.
Track active tenders and follow up with clients to convert estimates to orders.
Provide technical product advice and support to the sales team.
What We're Looking For To be successful in this role you will have:
A degree or diploma in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying,Engineering, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience in construction estimating, quantity surveying, orprocurement within a building products or construction environment.
Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and bills ofquantities.
Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A solid understanding of the Australian construction industry and building productsupply chains.
What We Offer
Competitive salary of $80,000 per annum plus superannuation (total packageapprox. $91,200 p.a.).
Full-time, permanent position — 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Convenient Heidelberg West location with on-site parking.
