A Rare Finance Opportunity with a Global, PE-Backed Business — North Brisbane
Our client is a large, global, private equity-backed business in the middle of an ambitious growth phase, currently investing heavily in modernising and centralising its finance function. This is a genuinely exciting time to join. To name a few initiatives; new systems implementation went live 6 months ago, new processes to automate EOM, plenty of CAPEX in the last 12 months now analysing those assets and a leadership team actively building a best-practice finance function from the ground up.
You'll report directly into a finance leader with a career built at the highest levels of Big 4, private equity, and global business, someone genuinely invested in developing the people around them. For the right person, this is as much a career-defining move as it is a job. What You'll Do
- Support month-end close and drive it toward best-practice turnaround times
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items
- Partner with budget owners to analyse cost centre performance and explain variances
- Contribute to annual budgeting and periodic forecasting
- Get hands-on with automation and process improvement initiatives — this business is investing seriously in modern finance tools
- Support group reporting, compliance and audit-readiness activities
- Work closely with a data and systems team building new reporting infrastructure
About You
- Big 4 or large/mid-tier audit background — this is an ideal first move into industry
- Curious and solution-oriented — you bring answers, not just problems
- Strong technical grounding in Australian Accounting Standards, with confident Excel and Power BI skills
- Comfortable balancing BAU delivery with contributing to bigger-picture process change
