About the Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre
We are a client-centred organisation, supporting the community throughout Barwon, Wimmera, and the South West regions, offering a range of specialist support services to people impacted by sexual and family violence, encompassing 24 hour crisis care, specialist response services, early intervention programs, Victims Assistance Program, Community Legal Services, trauma recovery programs, professional training and primary prevention initiatives.
About The Role
This position is primarily responsible for coordinating the planning, development, delivery and evaluation of the Respect Starts Here initiatives through funding by Sport and Recreation Victoria
and the Geelong Community Foundation. This includes supporting the delivery of key projectinitiatives including bystander workshops and gender needs assessments to sporting clubs,
reporting to funders on project progress, project management, and working collaboratively with partners and key stakeholders. The role is based in the Geelong office and also works offsite with
local sporting clubs across the Barwon area.

Key Selection Criteria
Essential Qualifications and Experience
Your application must address the following:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in public health, health promotion, gender studies, community
development, or relevant discipline.
- Minimum two years’ experience working in primary prevention or related sector.
Essential Skills and Knowledge
Experience or understanding of community sport settings, sporting codes, and sports clubs, particularly football and netball clubs
- Knowledge of Victorian Government’s Inquiry into Women and Girls in Sport and Active Recreation and Change our Game initiative, and the Fair Access Policy Roadmap
- Strong understanding of the frameworks and evidence base for preventing violence against women, specifically related to sexual assault and family violence
- Demonstrated ability to apply an innovative engagement approach in primary prevention practice approaches
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and ability to tailor to audience and purpose
- Effective project management, problem solving and negotiation skills to identify issues and make recommendations
- Ability to develop and foster partnerships between organisations and across sectors to support the planning and implementation of activity to prevent sexual assault and family
violence

Period of Appointment
This position is fixed term 30 June 2028.
Hours of work
- The position is part time.
- Location of the position is at the Geelong office with requirement to deliver project activities with sporting clubs across the Barwon area.
- Hours will usually be worked during business hours of 9.00am to 5.06 pm between Monday
to Friday.
- The days are based on the needs of the project and service.
- Flexibility in working hours will be required from time to time as the need arises.
Salary and Conditions
Annual salary range is as a Business Services classification, Level 3. Salary will be commensurate with experience and skills.
Industrial Instrument: The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre Enterprise Agreement 2023.
Salary Packaging: Provided via Maxxia. PBI status with other expenses available to package above this cap. The Sexual Assault & Family Violence Centre is a Public Benevolent Institution.
Superannuation: The employer will also make superannuation payments on your behalf in accordance with the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992.
Probationary Period – 6 months with a review conducted during this time.
