Our client, a leading government agency, is seeking experienced Senior Systems Administrators to join a high-profile Enterprise Migration Project. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a large-scale server migration initiative, ensuring seamless transitions across enterprise systems while maintaining operational stability and service continuity.
This is a 6-month contract opportunity (with potential extension) working within a collaborative project environment, supporting critical migration activities across shift-based operations.
As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will support and execute migration activities within a complex enterprise environment. Working alongside project and engineering teams, you will be responsible for server build, migration support, system validation, and troubleshooting across both Windows and Linux platforms.
This role operates on a shift roster, with positions available across the following hours:
- 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM
- 12:00 AM – 8:00 AM
- Provide first-line technical support during migration activities.
- Execute server build and migration tasks in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Conduct system validation, testing, and build assurance to ensure migration quality and integrity.
- Support enterprise virtual server migrations within VMware environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across Linux and Windows server platforms, escalating where required.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure milestones and delivery timelines are achieved.
- Contribute to a smooth and successful migration with minimal business disruption.
To be successful in this role, you will bring strong infrastructure and systems administration experience, with a track record of supporting enterprise-scale environments and migration projects.
- Proven experience administering Windows and Linux server environments.
- Hands-on experience with VMware virtualization technologies.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory and DNS administration.
- Experience following and adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for server deployment and build activities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting or delivering virtual server migration projects.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Previous involvement in large-scale enterprise migration programs.
- Experience working within project-based environments.
- Strong incident response and issue resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a shift-based operational model.
