Mobile IT Technician (Subcontractor)

A growing mobile IT support business is seeking an experienced and reliable Mobile IT Technician to join our team as an independent subcontractor.
This role is ideal for a self-motivated technician who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and delivering exceptional customer service. We are looking for someone who is not only technically capable but can build trust with customers and provide a professional, friendly experience on every job.
About the Role
You will travel to customer homes and small businesses throughout North Brisbane and surrounding areas, providing onsite technical support and troubleshooting services.
Work will vary from simple software issues through to networking, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, mobile device support, smart home technology, hardware installations, software setup, and general IT support.
Flexible hours are available, with workloads varying based on customer demand and your availability.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve Windows PC and laptop issues
- Support and troubleshoot Apple Mac computers and MacBooks
- Support and troubleshoot iPhone, iPad and Android devices
- Install and configure hardware and software
- Remove viruses, malware and unwanted software
- Configure and troubleshoot Wi-Fi and internet connections
- Install and support mesh Wi-Fi systems
- Set up and troubleshoot printers, scanners and peripheral devices
- Assist with Microsoft 365 and email-related issues
- Configure email accounts and cloud services across multiple devices
- Assist customers with mobile phone setup, data transfer and cloud services
- Set up and troubleshoot Smart TVs, streaming devices and home entertainment systems
- Support Chromecast, Apple TV, Fetch TV and similar devices
- Support smart home devices and connected technology
- Perform data backup and basic recovery tasks
- Complete service notes and communicate job outcomes
- Deliver exceptional customer service at all times
Essential Requirements
- Strong knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Experience supporting Apple Mac computers and MacBooks
- Experience supporting iPhone, iPad and Android devices
- Experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues
- Good understanding of home and small business networking
- Experience with Wi-Fi, mesh networking and internet troubleshooting
- Experience configuring email accounts and cloud services
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical customers
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload
- Current Australian Driver Licence
- Reliable vehicle

- Ability to pass a police check if required

- Previous field service or mobile technician experience
- Experience supporting customers in residential environments
- Experience supporting small businesses
- Microsoft 365 administration experience
- Apple Business Manager experience
- Experience with NAS devices and home servers
- Experience using data recovery tools
- Experience supporting both Windows and Apple environments
- Experience with smart home and entertainment technology
