We are seeking experienced Anaesthetic Nurses to join the perioperative team at Shepparton Private Hospital. In this role, you will work alongside anaesthetists to provide critical perioperative care, supporting patient preparation, monitoring throughout surgical procedures, and safe handover to the recovery team.
As a member of our clinical team, you will plan, deliver and evaluate patient care with the support and guidance of the Nurse Unit Manager, Clinical Nurse and Shift Leaders, ensuring a high standard of quality service is provided to our patients.
Key responsibilities include:

Preparing patients, equipment and the anaesthetic environment prior to surgical procedures.

Assisting with the administration of anaesthetic agents and monitoring patient vital signs throughout surgery.

Anticipating and responding to the needs of the anaesthetist and surgical team in a dynamic, fast-paced setting.

Managing and maintaining anaesthetic equipment, drugs and consumables in compliance with relevant standards and Ramsay policy.

Facilitating safe handover of patients to the PACU/recovery team following completion of procedures.

Maintaining accurate clinical records in line with ACORN standards and legislative requirements.
About You
You are a skilled perioperative nurse with dedicated anaesthetic experience, a high level of clinical vigilance and the ability to work with precision in a demanding theatre environment. You will also demonstrate:

Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse (essential).

Minimum 2 years' experience in an anaesthetic nurse or anaesthetic technician role (essential).

Sound knowledge of anaesthetic agents, equipment and emergency management protocols.

Demonstrated ability to work at pace alongside anaesthetists and surgeons, anticipating clinical needs.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high standard of patient-focused service.

Flexibility to work a rotating 7-day roster, including evenings and weekends.

Post-graduate qualifications in perioperative nursing will be highly regarded.
