We have an opportunity for an experienced Stakeholder Engagement Specialist to join our team.
In this role, you’ll work closely with the Community & Stakeholder Manager to plan and deliver engagement activities along the WRL corridor, supporting the planning and delivery of the project.
You’ll build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensure project updates are shared in a timely way, and capture stakeholder input to inform the project. You’ll also play a key role in resolving issues and building support for operational programs.
What you’ll be doing in this role:
Support the planning and delivery of stakeholder engagement activities
Assist in developing engagement plans to maximise community participation
Build and maintain relationships across community, industry and government
Capture and organise stakeholder input to support project decisions
Support stakeholder mapping and engagement planning
Work with communications teams to deliver clear, consistent messaging
Respond to stakeholder enquiries and correspondence
Help deliver engagement activities, including meetings and forums
Support issue resolution and help build trust with stakeholders
Work with internal teams to coordinate engagement activities
Identify and escalate stakeholder issues and risks
Apply IAP2 principles in day-to-day engagement activities
Support delivery of community benefit programs, including grants and sponsorships
Contribute to safety outcomes and mission Zero initiatives
You don’t need to check every box; however, we’re looking for a good combination of:
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Community & Stakeholder Engagement or other relevant degree
3+ years’ experience in stakeholder engagement, ideally across government, community or infrastructure projects
Experience developing engagement plans and working across diverse stakeholders
Background in project delivery with regular external stakeholder engagement
Proven ability to manage community issues, including complex or sensitive matters
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including reports and presentations
Strong time management and project planning capabilities
Understanding of planning, environmental or approvals processes (desirable)
IAP2 certification or similar experience (desirable)
Self-driven team player who works well within a structured, high-profile project environment
High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence a broad range of stakeholders
Resilient and adaptable, able to manage changing priorities
