Welcome to Woolworths Property
At Woolworths Property we create the heart of local neighborhoods. As the engine room for all property undertakings across the Woolworths Group, our mission is to deliver proactive, sustainable, and innovative property solutions that fuel the growth of Australia’s most trusted retail brands.
We are looking for a visionary Senior Development Manager to join our agile, purpose-led team. This is a high impact role based in Victoria, where you will spearhead the acquisition and delivery of major property developments across the state, enjoying the autonomy of a fast-paced environment with the support of a national leader.
What you’ll do
As a Senior Development Manager, you are the architect of the project lifecycle. From the first handshake of an acquisition to the final ribbon cutting, you will proactively convert opportunities into world-class retail and mixed use facilities that set new benchmarks for quality and amenity.
Key Responsibilities:
-
Strategic Acquisition: Identify and secure prime retail and mixed-use development sites across Victoria, utilising diverse acquisition strategies to expand our network.
-
Visionary Planning: Lead the end to end design and planning of sophisticated retail centres, including complex commercial and residential mixed use integrations.
-
Approvals & Advocacy: Navigate internal stakeholder and local authority approvals to maximize financial outcomes and ensure long-term community benefits.
-
Stakeholder Influence: Cultivate and leverage high level relationships with Victorian landowners, developers, and government bodies.
-
Leadership & Capability: Drive project teams toward excellence, fostering capability and providing leadership within the Victorian property landscape.
What you’ll bring
-
You are a commercially savvy property expert with a deep understanding of the Victorian market. You balance a "big picture" strategic mindset with the technical rigour required to deliver multi-million dollar developments at better-than-market standards.
-
Education: Tertiary qualifications in a Property-related discipline.
-
Experience: 5+ years of proven success in site acquisition, design, and planning approvals for retail or mixed-use (commercial/residential) developments.
-
Technical Expertise: A broad knowledge of Victorian property economics, legislation, valuation, and planning laws.
-
Project Leadership: A track record of guiding cross-functional teams to successfully deliver, lease, and open major retail centres.
-
Commercial Acumen: Strong financial planning skills and the ability to analyze complex deal structures to ensure project viability.
What you’ll experience
A commitment to flexibility through a hybrid working model which combines time spent at a support office or hub and time working from home, supporting both in-person connection and balancing the flexibility that remote working provides for our teams.
High-impact role supporting our teams who enrich our communities.
A global business with endless career possibilities around every corner and across every discipline – with valuable exposure to a vast and exciting business network.
A range of programs to help you prioritise and manage your wellbeing, including 24/7 access to the Sonder app.
A progressive and competitive leave policy that gives you more space for what matters to you.
Team discounts across our range of Woolworths Group brands you know and love and a robust rewards program that celebrates and incentivises purpose-driven work.
