About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and experienced Male Support Worker to provide one-on-one support to an adult male participant living in Melbourne CBD. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about empowering individuals to live independently while providing person-centred support in a respectful and professional manner.
The participant has a Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) and requires a support worker with experience managing mental health conditions, complex behaviours, and OCD.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting community access and social participation
- Providing in-home care and daily living assistance
- Assisting with light household duties, including cleaning and food preparation
- Accompanying the participant to appointments and community activities
- Following the participant's Behaviour Support Plan (BSP)
- Maintaining accurate progress notes and documentation
- Delivering support with empathy, patience, and professionalism
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience supporting participants with mental health conditions
- Experience working with complex behaviours and Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
- Ability to implement and follow Behaviour Support Plans (BSP)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Reliable, proactive, and person-centred approach
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Valid driver's licence and reliable vehicle preferred
- Full Australian working rights
