About the role
This casual position has been created to assist Council’s finance team with day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable and receivable, data entry, reconciliations and general finance administration.
This position is offered on a casual basis, 14 -28 hours per week (negotiable), $40 per hour plus casual 25% loading. The position is primarily based in Council’s Narrandera office, with flexible work arrangements also available.
Financial Processing
Preparing and processing day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
Ensuring timely and accurate billing, receipting, and reconciliation of council income streams (rates, fees, grants)
Maintaining financial records in accordance with internal policies and accounting standards
Financial Reconciliations
Assisting with bank, balance sheet, and subsidiary ledger reconciliations
Rates & Revenue Support
Supporting Council’s Revenue Officer in the administration of rates, charges, and debtor management processes
Payroll Support
Assisting Council’s payroll team with the fortnightly payroll cycle and other payroll related enquiries received
General finance Support
Assisting senior finance staff with ad hoc projects and reporting requirements
Supporting wider corporate services functions where required
