About the role
In the vacation student Mechanical Engineer role, gain hands-on experience supporting the maintenance, reliability, and performance of mobile and fixed plant equipment across the mine site.
Some of your work may include:
- Assisting with maintenance and reliability improvement projects.
- Support inspections of mobile and fixed plant equipment.
- Analyse equipment performance and maintenance data.
- Contribute to fault-finding and troubleshooting activities.
- Assist with project planning, reporting, and documentation.
- Work with operations and maintenance teams to improve equipment availability.
Program locations
Cowal Gold Operations, NSW
A major gold operation near West Wyalong, with open pit and processing all on one site, the operational diversity is ideal for uplifting careers.
Roster: 5:2/4:3
Included: Subsidised accommodation, flights at the start and end of the program, plus return travel over the festive period.
About you
We're looking for motivated students who are curious, hands-on and keen to grow their technical skills.
You’ll be:
- Studying mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated interest in maintenance, reliability or heavy industry.
- A strong problem-solver with analytical thinking skills.
- A confident communicator and team player.
- Willing to live and work in a regional mining environment.
- Hold a valid manual driver's licence.
