Details: The Suburban Land Agency is seeking an Assistant Director, Cyber Security Governance to join the Digital Solutions team on a temporary basis to December 2026, with the possibility of extension and/or ongoing employment.
This role plays a key part in delivering security governance uplift across the Agency, with a focus on policy, procedures and alignment to the ACT Protective Security Framework (PSF). Working under the Director, Cyber Security, the successful candidate will support the development of security documentation, coordinate security assessment processes, and work closely with stakeholders across SLA and ACT Government.
This is a practical, delivery‑focused role suited to someone who can build strong relationships, develop clear and fit‑for‑purpose documentation, and progress work independently in a complex environment.
The successful candidate will ideally bring experience working within the ACT Government or a similar public sector environment, with demonstrated ability in policy and procedure development, governance or risk activities, and stakeholder engagement. Exposure to protective security, procurement, personnel or ICT governance will be highly regarded.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in policy, procedure or governance document development

Demonstrated ICT experience or exposure to information security concepts, implementation or operations

Strong written communication skills and ability to develop clear, practical guidance materials

Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills

Experience working within the ACT Government or a similar public‑sector environment is highly desirable

Familiarity with ACT Government risk, procurement, or personnel practices is desirable

Exposure to the ACT Protective Security Framework (PSF) or Commonwealth PSPF is desirable

This position does not require a security clearance
Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately until 31 December 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months. A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
