Casual Dental Assistant – TMJ & Orofacial Pain ClinicTMJ Centre
Melbourne is looking for an experienced casual Dental Assistant to support our team on an as-needed basis.This role would suit someone who enjoys a calm, focused and patient-centred clinical environment. We are not a routine general dental clinic. Our appointments are longer and focused on temporomandibular disorders, jaw pain, headaches, oral appliances and orofacial pain care.
This is a great opportunity for a Dental Assistant who is looking for something different from routine dentistry and enjoys meaningful patient care in a more specialised clinical setting.
Immediate availability required: Applicants must be available on the 15th from 8:00am–6:00pm, with a 1-hour lunch break. For the right candidate, there is potential for an ongoing casual role.
Location:Melbourne CBD
Pay:Above award casual rate, depending on experience.
The role may include:
* Chairside assisting during longer TMD and orofacial pain appointments
* Accurate clinical note-taking during consultations and reviews
* Room preparation and turnover
* Sterilisation and infection control duties
* Assisting with appliance records, scans and patient flow
* Supporting the clinician and reception team as needed
* Helping create a calm, professional and reassuring patient experience
About you
We are looking for someone who has:
* Minimum 1 year dental assisting experience
* Strong spoken and written English
* Confidence with accurate clinical note-taking
* Good understanding of infection control and sterilisation processes
* A calm, professional and friendly manner* Strong attention to detail
* Reliability, punctuality and initiative
* Ability to work independently when required
* Ability to work well in a small team
* Comfortable working with patients who may be in pain, anxious or seeking clarity about complex symptoms
* D4W/D4Web experience preferred, but not essential* Right to work in AustraliaTo apply:
